During repair/restoration, basic service for all devices (if not already done):
- replacing electrolytic capacitor (Re-Cap) with a shape-correct version (axial/radial)
- chemical washing of PCB, casing and keyboard
- neutralizing leaked electrolytic liquid on PCB, removing resin stains (even after repair)
- microscopic checking parts and solderings, replacement and repair as needed
- replacing loose, damaged IC parts and rusty, rotten parts
- cleaning contacts
- checking current consumption on PCB
- 30 minute software testing
- replacing broken joystick controller with a 3D printed version
In case of power-supplies:
- loadability test
- replacing electrolytic capacitor (Re-Cap) with a shape-correct version (axial/radial), in secondary and bypass areas with LowESR types
- correcting output, protection and starting voltages
- replacing damaged, broken switches
- replacing damaged terminals (230V AC, and low voltage)
types I have repaired:
replacing factory power-supplies with PC power-supplies
Converting PC power-supplies with a switch for Videoton TVCs so that the power-supply connectors can also receive additional FDDs. A MOLEX connector must be led out of the computer without conversions for the new power-supply. The computer will still recognise the factory power-supply.
